Anime-Manga Differences Spoiler
Censorship
- Blood pools out of the Kuroari (with Karasu inside) when Kankurō finishes his Black Secret Technique — Machine Triple Shot in the manga. The anime cuts that blood from the shot. (Manga: chapter 518, page 15)
Plot and Content Changes
- The Sasori puppet uses its flamethrower against Shin in their manga clash. The anime omits the flamethrower entirely. (Manga: chapter 518, page 7)
Animation Changes
- The anime accidentally reveals part of the left side of Tobi's face through the eyehole of his mask. Masashi Kishimoto has been careful to keep the rest of that side fully shadowed (everything except the eye) across the manga.
- Shin's eyes show up black in the anime, but the only time they're open in the manga — at his reincarnation — they're drawn in a light colour. The anime keeps them black during the reincarnation, then oddly switches them to white once Sasori starts manipulating Shin as a puppet, implying Kabuto wiped Shin's personality even though that never actually happens. (Manga: chapter 516)
